What it is
Insyght is a preventive health membership. Members pay for access, talk to physicians, order lab tests and use digital health services, all in one product. It serves 48 states and is one of the biggest preventive health platforms in the US.
Where it started
The first brief was about 80 lines in a WhatsApp message. It listed eight or nine features the client imagined. It wasn't a spec. It was a rough picture of an idea.
I researched the market, figured out what the client really wanted, and used regular calls to turn that picture into a product I could build.
What I built
- Paid memberships and renewals
- Physician consultations
- Lab test ordering, through Junction (formerly Vital)
- Payments
- Secure handling of sensitive health data
The hardest part wasn't the code. It was finding and plugging in the right third-party services, which the original brief never mentioned.
My role
I led the development and built most of the product myself: memberships, payments, lab orders and the whole member journey from sign-up to results.
The result
The whole product, including the research to find the right partners, launched in about 50 to 60 days. It's live and serving members today.
The takeaway: a short, messy brief can become a real commercial product if someone turns it into a plan and ships fast.
